Alexis Scott

TLC & Preschool Coordinator

Department:
The Early Learning Center

Mrs. Scott has served Apache Junction Unified School District since 2009, currently leading special education with a focus on equity, collaboration, and high-quality instruction. Previously serving as Preschool Facilitator, she ensures every student receives meaningful support while strengthening family partnerships and recruiting exceptional educators who prioritize students.

Her career began in special education preschool classrooms, teaching in integrated settings and AJUSD’s Preschool Future Readiness Program. These experiences shaped her commitment to early intervention and inclusive practices. In 2020, she was named AJUSD Teacher of the Year in recognition of her dedication to young learners.

Mrs. Scott holds two Master of Education degrees from Northern Arizona University, earned with distinction: Educational Leadership (Principal, PreK–12) and Early Childhood Education. She graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Special and Elementary Education and earned an Associate of Arts in Elementary Education from Central Arizona College.

As a mother of two, Mrs. Scott brings both professional expertise and personal insight to her leadership. She embodies the district’s “Kids First” philosophy, guiding educators in delivering effective, inclusive instruction while advocating for policies that protect students with disabilities. She remains committed to professional growth, innovation, and collaboration with educators, families, and community partners.
