What is a Classical Academy?

A classical academy is a school that follows a time-tested, rigorous curriculum designed to develop critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills. Using the Trivium model—Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric—students gain a deep understanding of core subjects like literature, history, math, and science, all while cultivating a love of learning. Latin is also a key part of the curriculum, strengthening language skills, vocabulary, and cultural understanding.

The Classical Academy at Superstition Mountain will offer this proven approach to education, emphasizing foundational learning, critical thinking, and character development. Rooted in liberal arts traditions, it focuses on mastery of reading, writing, and mathematics, while also immersing students in history, literature, science, and the arts.

The Academy will be located in the newly refreshed Superstition Mountain Elementary School building, featuring updated classrooms and facilities that support our rigorous curriculum while preserving the building’s original charm. The revitalized space will provide students with an ideal environment to thrive in their classical education.
